Help, I have an addiction. It started with just one or two every now and then. They fitted easily on my shelves. But then my shelves got too full, so I started storing them in piles. Just little piles. But then the piles grew ... and grew ... and grew.
They have have taken over one side of the wardrobe, 5 piles deep ...
... as well as the other side, 4 piles deep with a couple of other mini piles ...
... and some have managed to hide themselves under the desk. I definitely need help!
So as my new years resolution, I am planning on tackling the piles and weeding out the books I can't see myself reading or re-reading. So here are some of my, admittedly smaller, piles of weeded out books. I have some where to go!

It's a readers lament but we both know there's no cure. How about those lovely storage containers that slide under the bed?
ReplyDeleteI love it! Some-one else with the same addiction, I was going to say problem but how can books be a problem? The problem is the time and space.
ReplyDeleteDo you find that you have double acquired as well- that is a problem I have.
Darlene - You should tell my boyfriend that. For some reason he thinks I should be able to just stop buying books :o) That would actually be a great idea if it wasn't for my general hoarding habit - under the bed is a bit of a jungle in itself :oS
ReplyDeletenewtonhouseltd - Certainly not a problem (for me at least) :o) I could defintely do with another room or two in my house. Oh yes, I defintely have multiple copies of some books. Sometimes this is because I have forgotten that I already own a copy, or other times it is because I can't leave the book on the shelves if it has a beautiful cover or is part of a set.
I would LOVE to help you weed. Not just because I want first crack at the cast offs, but I love organize just about anything (except for clothes).
ReplyDeleteHehe, thanks Thomas. In that case I think that you will find lots of things to organise in my house (not just books!) :o)
